lets see how bad it is (incidentally...do not buy these wheels... mavic makes great wheels but their entry level read cheap stuff is soft as babyshite)
welp..thats seen better days
spider living in rear mech... check
old inner tube looking remarkably pristine.... probably didnt need to replace... oh well.. fuck it more spares never hurts
had to remove rear wheel... sounds like it has marbles rolling around in there.... appears to be a spoke nipple rolling around in the rim.. probably happened last time i had a spoke replaced... rim is double walled so i cant get to it... noise will drive me mad.. but otherwise harmless.. nothing to worry about
mandatory as im incapable of getting a bike pump of the valve without bashing me hand into the brake disc
uhhh.... wheres the spacer?... pretty sure the brake pads need a spacer.... missing at the front too... soo.. brake pads are just lying in there loose.. ergo no brakes.. will have to get some parts for that
one half arsed cleaning later....bikes in surprisingly good shape.. front fork is seized waiting to see if lubricant fixes that.. but if it doesnt i might just fit a solid fork. brakes need fixing. and the gears need some finetuning.. but it shifts again.... this was much less of a headache than i figured

If you did such a craftily good job of hiding the fork brand because it was SR Suntour don’t waste any more time waiting to remove and recycle it. Almost anything else can and should be rebuilt using the correct weight of oil and new seals. Lots of kits and instructions out there. Shouldn’t be too hard for anyone with mechanical aptitude.

Mavic makes good stuff but I’m generally not a fan of things that require proprietary tools for their unique spokes and such.

wasnt trying to hide anything lol.. its an entry level bike non of the parts on it are super duper cool... fork is pretty damn stuck tho
if it doesnt get unstuck i will probably go the way of a solid fork coz i need a spare runabout i wont care too much for if it gets stolen (yay city life)
(i mean... i need a spare that isnt one of my 3 granny bikes :p)

those flat spokes are a nightmare 0/10 would not recommend
at least in the cheap wheels anyway

Let’s just say I’ve gained vantage into your, how can I put this, aggressive style on a bike. My suggestion is to move any adjustment knobs still functional to the detent offering the least resistance and go out to try breaking it loose. It’s already junk so barring gross bodily harm the worst you can expect is oil to shoot out in your face when she blows. Wear sunglasses.

stuck fast for now.... wont ride it till i fix the brakes (used to do that shit... but i dont heal as quick as i used to no more)
pretty sure the fork is toast...... kinda tempted to order a reba (missus aint home... voice of reason cant tell me off)
